Life-skilled?

As is their wont, the editors of the London Independent newspaper made me think today, with their list of twenty things everyone should know. This is not academic knowledge at all, it is everything from how to change a tire( tyre, in Londonese)to the basics of conducting a background information(?!). Go and check yourself. I admit to some serious deficiencies in my basic life skills, starting with the background check...

Hmmmm, interesting. Some of the info is kind of inane. How many men need to know how to put on lipstick (no, I won't go THERE)? LOL. And, the last time I checked my birth certificate, my last name is not Gates or Trump so I don't need to know how to buy a diamond (however, that is a handy skill for men...lol). As for making a martini...vodka please. Drinking gin is like licking a pine tree. Yuck!!

I don't care a whit about some of those skills--like making a martini, yeeech--but it's a handy thing to know how to hang a picture. I was born on a slant...
